Housewife dresses

I simply adore pretty vintage housewife looking dresses like this one. And why do I never think to pull a sweater vest over a dress?!

So pretty

Can I admit to wanting this dress very much? Cause I do. And also this blazer. And this sweater vest in green or polka dots.

I blame it all on holiday shopping that gets me looking at too many temptations.

Outfit ideas

I want to regularly post some inspiring outfits from wardrobe remix. Today's won't let me post the picture, but I love this one. Particularly since I'm a dunce and hadn't thought about layering a cute short sleeve jacket I have over some long sleeve tops. Can I blame my cold?

Anyway, the outfit is cute and you all can expect some more inspiration regularly.


I'm also doing some serious introspection and goal-setting for myself. Expect a windier post soon.

Vintage cool

Now I usually don't blather on too much about my etsy shop, but this is really too cool not to share. I got my hands on a McCalls Fashion Magazine from the 70s all about embroidering your wardrobe. And the pictures in it are amazing. Here's my favorites:



I have it listed in Kristen and I's vintage shop - Miriam and Eleanor. I think I'll be putting up a bunch of vintage postcards soon too.

Another reason to go to bed way too late

Having seen all but one of the movies nominated for best picture, I was interested in a bit more than the clothes at last night's Oscars.

My three favorite dresses:


Kelly Preston's dress is such a delicious color. Reminiscent of the painting (who's name I cannot recall) or the woman lounging in the sunlight. I want to bathe in that color.

I liked the drama of Heidi Klum's dress.

Marion Cotillard's dress is so pretty and detailed and mermaid-like. I have yet to see La Vie en Rose but its on my Netflix queue.

Other things I noticed:

His character in No Country for Old Men scared the bejesus outta me. But cleaned up and sans the bad haircut, Javier Bardem is a cutie.

No big fan of her dress, but I was happy when Tilda Swinton won for supporting actress. She was so good in Michael Clayton. And she looked so striking and fresh faced last night.

Yay for Project Runway

I seriously love the show and I'm so glad its back. My favorite outfit from last night is nothing I'd ever wear, but I think its pretty cool.

Carmen's outfit just had such pretty combinations of fabrics and colors. Very striking.
