All over the map

I watched Away from Her last week. So very well done and so very very sad. The two main actors were phenominal. (And I'm so proud of myself for actually watching this one. I frequently borrow movies from the library that I know will bum me out, and then I never actually watch them to avoid the expected bummedness. Dumb, I know.)

Loved Dearly Devoted Dexter - even better than the first book. Book three is already on reserve. Who can't love a funny serial killer who targets other serial killers?

The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry is a nonfiction book about the author attending Le Cordon Bleu cooking school. I picked it up cause I love foodie books and Le Cordon Bleu is where Julia Child learned to cook. Not a bad read, but for nonfiction I found it pretty fluffy and not so memorable.

Around the House and in the Garden was a terrific read. Another nonfiction book - this one about a woman redecorating her home after a divorce. Its mostly short short chapters and not very linear, but I found it perfect as a new home owner pondering what will make my house more homey.

Vintage find

I just had to show off my latest find - this super cool jewelry box.

Isn't it darling?

Moss addiction

When you absolutely adore moss in all its up-close-alien-landscape-looking weirdness, what else is there to do but make your own moss terrariums?

Right now

I am:
  • drinking a Mike's hard lime - so good when you're sweaty.
  • admiring the wee terrariums I just made and already pondering where to find more containers
  • working on an exciting new project
  • wondering what that crash downstairs was cause by (the dogs I'm sure)
  • listening to Kate Nash
  • wondering what color to paint my toenails

Muppet dogs

Seriously, the cuteness around here is insane. (The badness too, but that's another thing altogether).

Talented friends

I just had to share the cutest card we received from our friends Jill & Andrew. I love receiving handmade things, and their cards are darling. And this one is so perfect for a new house kinda card. They even sell them so go check 'em out.
